A type of dryer found on blanket-to-blanket presses used in web offset lithography. A floating dryer allows the web to simply pass through a heated region of air, rather than contact a surface, as on blanket-to-blanket presses the web contains wet printing on both sides. Floating dryers can either be open flame dryers or high-velocity hot-air dryers.
