Wavy Edges

A paper defect characterized by warpage and distortion of its edges, caused by a loss of dimensional stability due to increased moisture content after exposure of paper edges to higher relative humidity, or from exposure to warmer air. The distortion is greater in the paper's cross-grain direction, and causes misregister when printing multi-color work. See also Tight Edges and Cockling.
