Slurring

Категория: не задано

A printing defect characterized by the smearing of the trailing edges of a printed impression, which is typically caused by slippage of the paper, resulting—in offset lithography, for example—from increased pressure between the plate and the blanket or between the blanket and the paper. It can also be caused by using a loose blanket, too soft a blanket, too soft an ink, or by the excessive use of ink. It can also be generated by using deformed paper, such as paper with wavy edges or other distortions. When slurring occurs in halftone images, it is called dot slurring. (See also Doubling.)
