A thermoplastic compound produced by the polymerization of a polyhydric alcohol and a polybasic acid, used as printing substrates in flexography. When extruded into thin filaments, it can be woven into synthetic fabrics and used for a wide variety of textiles, such as screen printing fabrics or leisure suits. A common trade name of a polyester fabric is Dacron.
