A type of print head used in computer printers and electronic typewriters (called daisy-wheel printers) that contains relief characters located at the tips of spokes arranged around the perimeter of the wheel. The advantage of daisy wheels is their reliability and the formation of whole, solid characters (rather than the characters made of dots typical of dot-matrix printers). The spoke pattern is reminiscent of the petals of a daisy, hence the name. Also called a printwheel, and also spelled as one word, daisywheel.
