Somewhat colloquial term for the pressure exerted between two offset press cylinders (such as the plate cylinder and the blanket cylinder) or between the blanket cylinder and the paper or other substrate. Squeeze is measured in inches, and is an important determination of proper printing pressures, governed primarily by the extent of plate or blanket cylinder packing. See Packing.
