Slip Nip

Категория: не задано

In an offset press's continuous-flow dampening system, the line of contact between two rollers rotating in opposite directions, typically a hard transfer roller and a form roller, either belonging to the dampening system, or shared by the dampening and inking systems. The nip between two rollers rotating in the same direction is called a reverse slip nip, occasionally produced on presses as a means of preventing the excess fountain solution returning from the plate from interacting with the "fresh" fountain solution coming from the fountain. (See Dampening System and Reverse Slip Nip.)
