Short Ink

A printing ink characterized by a limited ability to flow and to form short threads when stretched, in contrast to long ink. Ink that is short has poor flow characteristics, and tends to not perform well on the press. Ink that is excessively short has a tendency to result in piling on the ink rollers, plate, or blanket.
