A device used to measure the porosity of a paper by measuring the rate of the flow of air through a paper sample. The device forces air up through an adjustible orifice and through the paper, past a gauging head that measures how fast the air is moving once it comes out of the paper. The orifice can be adjusted, depending on the density of the paper to be tested. (See also Densometer.)
