A generic type of letterpress printing ink that is designed to be printed and dried on a wide variety of paper surfaces. Job ink is commonly used as a kind of "default" ink in many letterpress shops, and do not require special surface characteristics to dry properly (as is the case with many other types of inks, that require the right degree of paper porosity to absorb the vehicle at the proper rate). They are also useful for printing a wide variety of images, from text to halftones.
