Any chemical or other substance that decreases or stops the rate at which a chemical reaction takes place. Substances such as antioxidants inhibit the chemical reactions (such as oxidation and/or polymerization) that cause an ink to dry. An inhibitor is also called a poison. The opposite of an inhibitor is a catalyst.
