A type of paper manufactured to resemble the mottled surface properties and texture of ancient parchment (which was actually the split and rubbed skin of sheep), or the appearance of modern vegetable parchment, by producing paper with a wild formation, or an uneven distribution of fibers. It is used for wine lists, menus in expensive restaurants, certificates, diplomas, coupons, or any other end use requiring a dignified paper.
