A volatile ester (chemical formula C4H8O2) formed from the reaction of ethyl alcohol and acetic acid (in the presence of a catalyst), used as a solvent in inks designed for flexographic and rotogravure printing processes. It is also widely used in the manufacture of nitrocellulose lacquers.
