In typography, the intermingling of of modified small cap and lowercase characters in the formation of a lowercase alphabet, giving type set in it a unique appearance. Biforms are derived from uncial versions of handwritten styles. The most popular biform typeface is Peignot. Biforms are most often used in heads, subheads, or display type, but rarely in running text, unless you're an eleventh-century scribe.
